What is the Ethanol Fuel Production industry?

The industry produces ethanol for national distribution from three plants, located in New South Wales and Queensland. Manildra Milling produces ethanol from wheat feedstock in Nowra, NSW. The company's Nowra plant is expected to account for 63.5% of the volume of domestic production.

Dalby Bio-refinery (United Petroleum) produces ethanol from sorghum feedstock in its plant at Dalby, QLD, and is expected to account for 22.5% of domestic production in 2017-18. The balance is produced by Wilmar Sugar Australia, which produces ethanol using molasses feedstock at its Sarina distillery in Queensland.
