Knox City Council is the local government body responsible for setting the vision and strategic direction for the municipality of Knox. The council employs approximately 630 full-time equivalent staff and is administered from its head office in Wantirna South, Victoria. Knox City Council administers an area of 114 square kilometres located 25 kilometres east of Melbourne's Central Business District. The council is divided into nine wards: Friberg, Taylor, Baird, Dobson, Dinsdale, Scott, Tirhatuan, Collier and Chandler.
