NSW Local Government Superannuation Scheme

Overview

The NSW Local Government Superannuation Scheme was established on the 30th of June 1997 by an Act of NSW Parliament, for the purpose of providing retirement benefits to employees of certain Local NSW Government entities. Following the merger of LGSS Pty Limited as the Trustee of the Fund and Local Government Superannuation Scheme Pool B in June 2016, the merged entity became known as Local Government Super (LGS). 

The fund is 100% owned by members and is administered from its Sydney head office.

 

The NSW Local Government Superannuation Scheme (LGSS NSW) was initially operated as a superannuation fund for NSW Government's existing and previous employees, however now it also services members of the public. The Scheme is divided into two asset pools, Pool A and Pool B.
