Overview

The Commonwealth Superannuation Scheme (CSS) is a Federal Government-owned defined benefit scheme that provides superannuation products and services to Australian Government employees and participating employers. The Scheme employs approximately 80 people, is managed by the Commonwealth Superannuation Corporation (CSC) and operates solely in Australia where it is headquartered in Canberra.

The Commonwealth Superannuation Scheme (CSS) is a superannuation fund for employees of the Australian Government and participating employers. The CSS is a hybrid super fund, it has a combination of two types of funds, namely:

Accumulation fund - the value of the contributions and investments determines the benefits.

Defined benefit fund - the member benefits are determined by a set formula.

The Scheme also provides two different investment options, Default Fund and Cash Investment Option, as well as financial advisory services.
