The Concrete Product Manufacturing industry produces a wide range of products which are essential inputs into most construction markets, mainly including pipes and box culverts, bricks and blocks, cement-based building boards, floor, wall and roofing tiles, precast panels, and posts and poles.
There is negligible international trade for pipes, bricks and box culverts, which generally have a low value per unit, but import penetration is important in the building boards, floor and wall tile segments. Imports currently total about $215 million (accounting for 8.3% of domestic demand), while industry export earnings represent only about $15 million (0.6% of revenue).
