Water NSW is a New South Wales state owned body responsible for the delivery of New South Wales's rural bulk water to licensed water users on the state's regulated rivers. The corporation employs about 650 people, operates in regional and rural locations throughout New South Wales, and is administered from its head office in Dubbo.
Water NSW was formed in January 2015 by bring together the Sydney Catchment Authority and State Water.
Water NSW manages bulk water delivery to customers in rural and regional New South Wales, on behalf of the State Government. The body is also responsible for maintaining. managing and operating 21 dams and 280 weirs, ensuring sufficient environmental flows to New South Wales' river systems, and monitoring water usage throughout the region.
